Techniques

I use both intuition and studied techniques to bring the full healing experience to my clients. Below are the main methods that I utilize in my work along with Sound Healing.

Somatic (body-focused) therapy works with the profound relationship between your body, mind, and emotions. Your body remembers all the trauma, pain, and distress that you’ve experienced in your life, even if your conscious mind doesn’t. Past traumas can cause emotional and physical symptoms that seem to come out of nowhere or have no cause, like depression, anxiety, addiction, stomach pain, headaches, weight gain, sexual dysfunction, and more. Somatic therapy gets to the very root of the problem, and allows your body to release these memories.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy focuses on changing destructive and sabotaging core beliefs into supportive and life-enhancing ones. Cognitive-behavioral therapy is based on the idea that our thoughts cause our feelings and behaviors, not external events. The benefit of this kind of thinking is that it gives you the control of your own life. Your happiness and well-being does not have to depend on other people, your situation, or what is going on in your life. You control your thoughts and emotions; therefore, you control your life.

Internal Parts Dialogue  We all have opposing parts of ourselves. When different parts of us want different things it can leave you feeling at odds with yourself.  IPD (Internal Parts Dialogue) can facilitate more cooperative internal relationships so you can be more fully behind yourself in whatever you do.

When we aren’t having the results we’d like to in our lives, it is often because the various parts of ourselves are not in agreement. For instance, if we want to lose weight, one part of us might be dedicated to looking good while another part doesn’t want to give up the comfort of eating. Most people have an inner critic, a hurt child, a pleaser, a rebel to name a few. We all have a core part of us that is wise and compassionate. IPD can help the different parts of you to become connected and working together harmoniously.

Guided Imagery uses the imagination to help create harmony between the mind and body. It focuses the  imagination to bring gentle healing to the places within that are hurting with comforting and soothing images.

Imagery involves all the senses, as well as one’s whole body and emotions. Guided imagery has been shown to create changes in heart rate, blood pressure and breathing patterns. The imagination can be harnessed to heal from many issues, including depression and anxiety.
